Rain, rain...go away....

And come again another day...maybe in the summer!  It has been raining for weeks here in Eugene!  And sometimes we get a bit of hail as well.

Well, last weekend, in a small break we had (well, break in rain - we did have sun and hail at the same time, though), I got a chance to work in the garden in a bit and till it up.

Garden all tilled!

A quick break to watch my fishes. :)

I loved seeing all the earthworms in my garden!

My overwintered lettuce and some bulbs (garlic or onion...I can't remember).

My chicks got to enjoy a bit of a break in the weather.  I took them into the garden to see the outside world for a bit.

They are reaching their awkward teenager phase.  Crazy hair-dos and finding their place in their pecking order.... Not all that different from people now that I think about it!

I can't wait for them to move outside, as cute and entertaining as they are.

Today, my friend and I went for a run (training for the full marathon this year).  We left with it seeming like a light rain and we stayed fairly dry...up until we were basically as far away as we could be from her house.  Then it started DUMPING!

But we muddled through, and are better for it!  We did about 13 miles today!

Hope your weekend was great (and a little less wet!)

Recycling never looked so good!

A couple of weeks ago I got a hair to work on some recycled gift wrapping projects.  With a little help from other online crafters, I came up with these pretty ditties!

What package is complete without a bow? This one is in earth tones....from a cosmo magazine.

And from the same magazine, a gift bow with blues and purples.  See how to make these at Green Eyed Monster.

I also bought a plate from my little Cricut cutter that makes gift tags.  These are from a 70's Vogue magazine!

And what to put them in?  How about these stylish little gift bags made from newspaper, magazine and more! Find the tutorial here.

Happy Saturday, all!

Wine bottling at RainSong Winery

My lovely organization does fundraisers in order to do the great work that we do!  Last weekend RainSong Vineyard let us come over and bottle wine as a fundraiser.  It is a great event and a ton of fun, all in a beautiful, Oregon setting.

One of the things we love about Eugene, and Oregon really, is that we can drive about 20-30 minutes out of town and be in the wilderness.  Here are a few shots from this weekend - which was definitely memorable!

But then....

A storm hit!  There was driving rain and the wind was quite strong.  It ended up blowing over trees and power lines and....

then we had to finish our job in the dark.

It was beautiful, memorable and makes me happy that I get to be part of this great organization!

And thanks again to RainSong for their great support!

Cheers!

I have to admit that I do not remember what kinds they all are!  Oops!

Happy Monday!

I know you've missed me....

It has been a while since I have posted!  Work took me away to more far away lands (or not so far away....hehe).  Here are a few pics of where I have been.

One week in Oregon I am in snow at a beautiful place called Silver Falls...

And the following week I am over at the Oregon Coast!

In the time I have been away from you all, I have also been busy with some new crafts and have grown the chicken family!  But I will share these in future (near future...I promise) posts.

Talk to you soon!  Happy Fat Tuesday, all!
