Feature Fridays returns (a little late) with Naughty Shorts!

One of my favorite ways to discover new and wonderful blogs is through craftgawker and pinterest.  I think it might be one of the only ways I would actually be able to find the awesomeness that I find!  And this week's Feature Friday is no exception!  I stumbled upon this pin when I was cruising around on pinterest recently of adorable dresses made from vintage sheets and knew I'd found a site I'd return to many times at Naughty Shorts!

I mean....how extremely adorable are these dresses?  They are amazing.

And after checking out her blog more, I found that not only does she love vintage materials, she just plain has a great blog!  She makes wonderful creations from the vintage materials she finds, she likes to craft in other ways and share them, and she loves to thrift!  I love some of the finds in this particular haul that she shared....

So neat!

And I can't say it enough....just seeing the great fabrics that she finds and sells or creates dresses from is so fun.  Her whole blog makes me want to go out and scour the thrift stores for some fun fabrics and neat finds.  I think I need a shelf like she has above!

My new toy....

Well, new to me, but definitely not new.  I am so excited!  A friend of mine found this beauty at a thrift store in her area, and knew I wanted one.  So she scooped it up and delivered the lovely Royal typewriter with metal typewriter stand to me recently.  And then just a few days ago I got a new ribbon for her.  And even my hubby agrees that it is so much fun to use.  

Love!  I plan on printing off my logo for my etsy biz's cards and tags, and then use the typewriter to stick in my info.  We will see how it goes, but right now, it seems like a fun way to add an interesting touch!

Fun at the Thrift Store-

Ric and I got a hair to finally re-do the bathroom here.  We rent, but the landlord told us we could repaint.  I will post the before and after pics soon....but it has been begging to be repainted for some time now!

Anyway, we are thinking about also taking out the sink cabinet and replacing it with a vintage-y looking desk.  So we took a little trip to Saint Vincent de Paul's Thrift Store.  They rock!  They had beautiful furniture, but nothing that we went for today.  But when you are at a thrift store, you have to take a look around!

These are a few things that I loooved!

First, we saw this great couch!

There was bad light, so it was hard to get a pic of the whole couch, but it wraps around....

You can basically see it here. (And my hubby in the back! hehe)

Then there was the treadle machine!  I learned how to sew on a treadle machine, and I loved this machine.  If I had $350 I would have snatched this up!  

 

Check out the enamel design....

Soo pretty!  And it seemed to run pretty well.  It even had this cute little desk with a little shelf on the inside with an old sewing tin inside still.

We did find a few things to buy.  They had a huge bowl of buttons to go through and we found some great ones!
